Joann, Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Yoga Therapist,Ê has been training mental health professionals internationally for the past seven years, including courses in Florence, Italy, in conjunction with the International Association for Psychosynthesis; Amsterdam, Holland;Ê Nassau, Bahamas and Grass Valley, Ca., for the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers.↵Also, in New York and San Francisco, Ca., under the auspices of the Integral Yoga Institute; Tampa, Fla, sponsored by the University of South Florida; Altlanta, Ga., at Pathways Transition Programs;Ê Burlington, Vt., at the National Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis Annual Conference; Glastonbury, Ct., sponsored by Sacred Rivers Yoga; West Hartford, Ct., sponsored by the West Hartford Yoga Center; Northampton, Ma. and Wellfleet,Ê Ma.↵She is currently touring and teaching mental health professionals and yoga professionals how to bring trauma-sensitive yoga into mental health care. Populations she has offered trauma-sensitive yoga to have included victims of crime at the Center for Community Resilience after Trauma;Ê people recovering from adjustment problems at the Recovery Learning Center in Holyoke, Ma.; veterans with PTSD at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Leeds, Ma., and participants of the Walden Behavioral Care Eating Disorders Program in Northampton.Ê↵She completed Level One of theÊ

.Ê↵Joann was the New England Coordinator for the Spiritual Emergence Network during the 1990's, producing two regional conferences, two series of monthly lecturesÊ and one retreat.↵She created and taught the first East Coast continuing education courses on "Spirituality and Social Work" for Social Workers and other Mental Health professionals.↵She has also taught yoga at Omega Institute; Harbin Hot Springs;Ê Rowe Conference Center;Ê Sivananda Yoga Retreat, Bahamas, and other venues.
